The blazing red sun was setting on what had been a scorching hot day, with the sky above it slowly turning indigo. there was a large building with a sign by it saying 'Cerulian City Gym'. A girl with shiny red hair was sitting on the diving board overlooking the calm waters of the pool inside the building. She had let her long, Flowing hair down and was holding a small blue mouse Pokemon with a big, round tail, in her arms.  the Pokemon's nose was twitching, taking in the smell of chlorine, but it turned to it's trainer, and, knowing that she was feeling down, the Pokemon stared sympathetically at it's trainer, Misty. "Azuuril..." the pokemon whispered softly. Misty stroked it absently, but her mind was elsewhere, thinking of her journeys with a black haired, black eyed boy. She thought of all the fun times she had shared with him and, before she could stop them, tears started to trickle down her cheeks. "oh Ash..." she murmured. "I miss you so much!" She wiped her tears away with the back of her hand, and as the last of the light left the darkening sky, Misty decided it was time to go to bed. letting Azuril play in the water, she left, closing the door behind her with a small 'click.'

Meanwhile, the same black haired boy that Misty had been thinking about that night was lying under the black sky, watching stars slowly start to appear, twinkling down at him. he was holding a small fishing lure that resembled Misty in his hand. the soft grass tickled his ears as the wind blew softly by him. soft snores could be heard from the large, red tent nearby. The fire was slowly dying down to cinders and Ash thought about the next day, when he would be leaving the Sinnoh reigion and heading back home. Having come second in the Sinnoh league, he felt pretty proud of himself and his Pokemon. Pushing that idle thought to the back of his mind, Ash looked down at his lure and felt a wave of sadness pass over him like he was being submerged in water. "Misty..." he whispered softly into the night. sitting up, Ash felt a strange urge to go and see Misty on his way back to Pallet town. "Yeah! I'll come to see you, Misty!" he said, a little too loudly.

A tall, dark haired boy who had been sleeping in the tent awoke with a start at the noise and sat up. smiling to himself, he thought "I'd better keep out of his way while he's talking to Misty!" With an even bigger smile, he thought "I'll go see NURSE JOY!!" he settled back down in his sleeping bag just in time, as Ash crawled back into his sleeping bag, being careful not to wake Dawn or (so he thought) Brock.

The next day, Misty got up bright and early to feed all the Gym's Pokemon. She fed the Luvdiscs, her own party Pokemon and Gyarados. trying not to think of Ash she kept herself busy all morning, washing the Pokemon, Cleaning the tanks etc. That was when there was a knock on the door. "That'll be another challenger!" she thought. Grabbing all of her pokeballs, she went to answer the door to see her three sisters standing cheerfully side-by-side at the door. "Daisy? Lily? Violet? What are you..." She spluttred. Her sisters had bags and suitcases by them and a tall man in a suit was unloading more belongings from a limo. "Hey Misty! we're, like, totally back!" Daisy grinned. Violet walked over to hug he youngest sister. "surprised?" She asked. Misty was not used to this kind of treatment from her sisters, being the youngest of four and somewhat tomboyish, her sisters used to ignore her. "Hey, I totally love your new outfit!" said Lily. They strode in, leaving Misty and the limo driver to bring their stuff inside. "Now's my chance to leave!" thought Misty triumphantly.

Novice Pokemon co-ordinator, Dawn was saying goodbye to Ash and Brock. She had decided to leave and travel around with her childhood friend, Kenny. Though she found Kenny sometimes annoying, she needed a co-ordinator to help her get along. Besides, she wanted it to be Kenny. With a blush, Kenny led Dawn off. "huh, that's weird. Kenny always blushes when he looks at me. Wonder why? She thought.

As the boat left shore, Ash couldn't help but feel excited as he headed back home to Kanto, even though he was saying goodbye to his good friend Dawn. Brock was off in the cafeteria, chatting up some girl. "Typical Brock" thought Ash, smiling. once again, he got out the Misty lure, thinking about all his memories with Misty. Glancing at the yellow mouse Pokemon, Pikachu, that was on his shoulder, he remembered how it had frazzled Misty's bike and she had followed him, telling him to pay her back all the way. He was glad she was so persistent, or he might not have got to know her as well. Pikachu's lightning-bolt shaped tail wafted around in the wind as the boat picked up speed and Ash said "we're going home, Pikachu" Pikachu smiled and cuddled up to Ash's face, remembering the time they had met, when it was forced to live in a Pokeball. It shuddred at the thought, but now it was free from Pokeballs. Ash preferred to let Pikachu sit on his shoulders.

Misty had packed her red bag and was sorting her Pokeballs, getting ready for her journey. She had seen Ash on TV in the Sinnoh League, and knew he was coming home soon. She would wait for him at his house. her confidence wavered a little bit as she thought "what if Ash... is in love with another girl?" Then "NO!! he can't be! Ash is too immature to go off with every other girl he sees, unlike Brock! Anyway, Brock will need someone to keep him in order when he gets like that, right?" she slung her bag on her shoulder and headed out towards Pallet town.

********A few hours later*********

Ash and Brock arrived at Vermillion City Port to find the bustling city full with some kind of festival. Brock wanted to stay and admire the girls. "no" said Ash firmly. "we've gotta get going." dissapointed, Brock complained " but Ash-" Ash interrupted "Brock, I've got something to do..." Brock didn't argue, remembering Ash's outburst last night. they continued on the road.

When they eventually arrived at the Gym in Cerulian, Ash was disappointed to find Misty had gone. Daisy told him "hey, your girlfriend, like, just isn't here, OK?" Ash, blushing scarlet, cried "She's NOT my girlfriend!!"

Checking in at the Pewter City Gym, Brock left Ash to go on his own, as Brock cooked his family a delicious meal. Ash, continuing halfheartedly towards Viridian Forest, saw a flash of red glinting in the sun. Gasping, Ash ran top speed towards it, thinking it was Misty's red hair. When he got ther however, the red glinty object turned out to be a sweet wrapper. "STUPID LITTERBUGS!!" a disappointed Ash yelled. A familiar  voice  behind him made him start. "Bugs?!? where!??" it teased. whirling around, Ash lost his balance and fell over. "M...Misty???" he spluttred. "yeah, hi Ash! You remember i always hated bugs?" Misty asked. She extended a hand to him and helped him to his feet. "Hi Misty. What are you doing here?" Ash said as calmly as he could. "I... missed you, Misty..." Ash looked down at the floor to avoud her gaze. He felt his face get hot, and, unable to keep his eyes off her face, he looked up to see her blushing too. "Ash... I missed you... So much..." her soft voice sounded so upset that Ash took a step forward and took her in his arms. Surprised, she looked into his eyes and relaxed, slipping her arms around him. It felt so comfortable there, like they belonged close together. Both still blushing, Ash leaned his face closer to hers. Misty felt like her dreams had come true, like nothing else but Ash mattered at that moment, not even the Weedle that dropped down from the trees onto her shoulder. "WAIT A WEEDLE?!?" she thought, terrified. Pikachu sent a Thunderbolt across to the Weedle, knocking it off Misty's shoulder, but unfortunately also shocking Ash and Misty too. "AAAAHH!" they both yelled. Breathing heavily from the shock, their hearts pounding in their chests, both of them sat on the muddy ground trying to calm themselves down. After a while Misty, having caught her breath, looked at Ash, who was still panting heavily beside her. Gasping, she realized their faces were inches from each other. In their shock, neither had realized they were so close. Blushing scarlet, Misty moved to a more comfortable distance. "Ash?" Misty started to say. 'JUST TELL HIM!!' she scremed in her head. "Y-yeah?" Ash replied, still panting. Misty changed what she was going to say at the last moment. "Ash... I r-really... think you should get home now! Your Mom will be waiting. We'll go together! You see, my sister are back now and..... I was kinda wondering if you would ...letmetravelwithyouagain?" she said the last part so quickly that Ash didn't understand her. 'Is she blushing?' he thought. "What, Misty? I couldn't hear you." "uhm, well... it's not like I have any other choice... there's no-one else to go with... and i really want to travel again... so..." She trailed off, but Ash knew what she was trying to say. "Well, I'll get Pikachu to frazzle your bike again, ok?" he replied. They both laughed, remembering the day they met. Ash stood up, brushed himself off and held out a hand for Misty, helping her up. "Misty, you're still to embarassed to say you like me, then?" Ash asked suddenly. Misty's face burned with the blush spreading across her cheeks. "Wh-what do y-you mean, A-Ash?" she stuttered. 'how long has he known I like him?!?' she thought, a light of hope shining in her heart. "Yeah, I mean we've been friends a while, and you always made up excuses to stay with me and Brock! We're all friends here!" At this point, the light of hope was extinguished, and something else was ignited. Misty's fiery temper. "ASH KETCHUM YOU ARE SO STUPID!!!!" She yelled, dissapointed. "I LIKE YOU, OK!!! DON'T YOU SEE THAT??" Ash, who had taken several steps back at her outburst, said: "Same old Misty... hothead as usual... Misty, please calm down..." but he thought: 'it's not like saying "calm down" will calm her anyway, but it's worth a try! Man, she's gunna hit me any minute now...' To his surprise, Misty calmed down at the sound of his soothing voice. She was breathing heavily and her face was red, which Ash supposed was because of her anger. "Misty I knew I'd get you to admit you liked me! ha, now no excuses for travelling with me!" 'stupid Ash, he took "like" to mean like as a friend!' Misty thought. 'Why do I like him...' After that, the two of them decided to head off to Pallet Town. Misty sighed. 'he's so oblivious...' she thought sadly.

The only thing I have a problem with is you having several characters talk at once in a paragraph. Consider starting a new paragraph each time a different character speaks. It helps the story flow, and makes it easy to keep track of who's talking. Other than that, you're off to a great start!
